Placing
Your Dog
North Texas German Shepherd Rescue does NOT have a kennel
facility. If you need to place your dog, we can only help you try
to find a suitable safe home for him. We very seldom have foster
homes available so YOU must keep the dog-whether one you bought
or one you found-in your home until it is placed. There is NO guarantee
on how long this will take.
If this is a solution for you, please send a bio on your dog, including
your reason for placing him, medical history (shots? spayed/neutered?
on heartworm preventative? special needs? etc.) and social skills
(good with children? cats? other dogs? playful? housebroken? obedience
trained? etc.) along with 3 pictures to wulfhouse@aol.com.
Ideally, the pictures should include a head shot, a side shot and
one of the dog doing something cute. Pictures are very important!
If you are unable to email them, please send them via the mail to
222 W. Parkway, Denton, TX 76201. You also need to provide your
contact information for our records.
We will list the dog on our website, and put screened approved applicants
in direct touch with you to arrange meeting the dog. You will have
the final say approving the adoption.

Help! I found a German Shepherd!
If you have found a German Shepherd we will be happy to help you
find it a new home, but first you must try to locate the owners.
If the dog is wearing tags, call any phone numbers listed. Look
for a tattoo inside his ear. If at all possible, take the dog to
a vet and have him checked for a microchip. Post flyers in the area
the dog was found. Call veterinarians in the area, and let them
know about the dog. Ask your mail carrier or paper delivery person
if he has seen the dog on his route. Most newspapers allow you to
run a “Found” ad for free. Contact us as well!
How to write a Lost Dog Flyer
If you are unable to keep the dog, your options are to take it to
the nearest animal shelter (the first place owners will look!) or
find someone-a friend, coworker, relative, etc.-who can foster the
dog. If that fails, consider boarding it at a veterinarian’s
office.
After 3 days, if the owner hasn’t been found, we can list
the dog on our website as needing a new home.
